Blepharoplasty

We want you to be happy with your appearance. Our surgeons will give you a natural, fresher look you’ll feel good about.

Eyelid Surgery
Eyelid surgery, known as blepharoplasty, removes fat and excess skin and muscle from the upper and lower eyelids. It can correct drooping upper eyelids and puffy bags below your eyes. Blepharoplasty will not remove wrinkles such as crow’s feet, eliminate dark under-eye circles or lift sagging eyebrows. Eyelid surgery can be done alone or combined with other procedures such as a facelift or browlift.

Some common reasons to have eyelid surgery include:

  • To relieve upper eyelid drooping that may interfere with vision
  • To improve the appearance of puffy bags or dark circles below your eyes
  • To eliminate excess skin surrounding the eyes.

We want you to be informed before making your choices. Our caring team will take the time to listen to your needs and fully explain everything. We will develop a personal plan customized to your needs. You can feel confident in our excellent care.

Your surgeon will fully explain the eyelid surgery to you. Part of the discussion will focus on

  • Eye assessment

Best results

The best results with eyelid surgery occur when you are physically healthy. There are some medical conditions that make the procedure riskier. Be sure to discuss your complete health history with your surgeon so he/she can make the best recommendation for you. You should first check with your ophthalmologist if you have a detached retina or glaucoma.

She is professional

Dr. Heinrich is actually out of St Paul MN. She and her staff are all beyond what words can describe. She is professional, kind, and explains things well.

Eye assessment

In your consultation, we will test your vision and assess your tear production. Be sure to bring with you the record of your most recent eye exam, and your glasses or contact lenses if you wear them. Occasionally patients will have double or blurred vision for a few days after surgery. There may also be temporary swelling or a slight asymmetry in healing or scarring.

Procedure

Based on your goals, your surgeon will recommend whether to do all four eyelids or just the upper or lower ones. He/she will also discuss if just fat, or skin and muscle will also be removed. The incisions generally follow the natural lines of your eyelids, in the creases of your upper lids and just below the lashes in the lower lids. There may be additional procedures recommended to get the best results.

Each eyelid surgery is based on an individual’s body and goals. We would be happy to schedule a consultation to answer any questions you may have and provide our recommendation on what we think is best for your situation. You will be well taken care of at HealthPartners Plastic Surgery We are confident you will be pleased with the results.
